| Brief: |
To create a beautiful and practical kitchen - a place to enjoy being
creative |
The kitchen, known as the “ Pink Kitchen” has exceeded all expectations. Not only is it a beautiful and
functional area, it changes between day and night with the ick of a switch.
The ‘sparkles’ in the Perna White HI-MACS Solid Surface benchtops and splashbacks reect the blue
and pink lights, set under the benchtop and also under the overhead cabinets, to give it an ethereal
effect.
The “Pink Kitchen” was entered into the KBDI design awards and became a nalist; and is also
entered into the HIA awards.
The designer of the project, Liz has a motto for her kitchen…“It doesn’t have to look green to be
green”. Liz’s idea was to specify products for the kitchen that had some environmental ticks. All of
the products she selected are recommended by Ecospecier (www.ecospecifier.org).
She used HI-MACS Perna White for benchtops and splashbacks, element Fusion on cupboards,
element White Diamonds for the cupboards on the island bench and Nevamar Laminate in Brushed
Aluminium for the kickboards.
The result provides an environment that dazzles with “eco chic”.
