DAEJEON TECH CENTREWhen it came to designing the Daejeon Tech Centre, LG Chem looked to their own designers and products to enable them freedom and scope to create a special working environment for their employees. The Daejeon Tech Centre in Korea is LG Chem’s Research and Development Centre designed specfically for the study and development of new technology and products. Keeping a crisp and clean colour palette of white and red, the designers at LG Chem have created a calm, quiet and restful area. They call it the ‘Thinking Room’, where Research workers go for rest and relaxation and to encourage free discussion. With surroundings like this it would be difficult not to come up with new and inspiring ideas. Utilising the versatility of HI-MACS to make booths with smooth curving walls wrapping around to give privacy and intimacy and comfortable cushions in a vibrant red tempting lounging and relaxation, the ‘Creative Cubes’ are hard to resist. They can be used as a place of solo contemplation or as a meeting area for small groups to discuss ideas. A large table, also fabricated from HI-MACS, forms a surface to spread out paperwork and for meetings where larger numbers of people are involved. This is yet another example of the limitless possibilities that can be achieved using HI-MACS.
