The Harry A. Merlo Award presented to Thorry Gunnersen
Created in 1996, this prestigious award honours individuals who have shown extraordinary commitment to forest stewardship for the purposes of producing resources for building materials.
This award was presented by the World Forestry Center (WFC), based in Portland Oregon, to Thorry Gunnersen, Executive Chairman of Gunnersen, during their annual general meeting in Melbourne on 13th November 2007.
Thorry is a past chairman of the WFC, was a founding member and past president of the National Association of Forest Industries (NAFI) and has been chairman of the Forest and Wood Products Development Corporation (FWPRDC).
The WFC is a non-profit organisation with a mission to educate and inform people about the the world’s forests and trees, and their importance to all life, in order to promote a balanced and sustainable future.
