Blush Ply

Blush™ is an attractive pre-finished interior plywood lining board offering fashionable semi-opaque finishes on both grooved and smooth faced plywood panels. Blush is factory applied with Climate’s innovative powder coating technology to provide an attractive, thick, durable and long-lasting finish.

Description

Blush is an interior decorative plywood board coated with an attractive, durable finish and is suitable for dry area walls, ceilings, and vertical and horizontal surface applications where the surface is not subjected to moisture or heavy use.

Each panel is created by a unique Climate powder coating process whereby a fine dry powder comprised of a unique formulation is thermally fused to a single side of an interior plywood surface. The powder is electrostatically sprayed onto the face of the plywood which is then heated to melt, flow and cure the powder to the board surface.

Available in two semi opaque, semi gloss finishes which highlight the timber’s natural grains and characteristics, Blush is easy to install and has been developed specifically for the following interior applications:

 Residential dwellings
 Holiday homes
 Retail fit-out
 Commercial fit-out
 Feature areas (walls, ceilings, dados)

Blush is available with a stock product v-grooved face, tongue and groove edge, and a made-to-order smooth face with tongue and groove edge.

Colours

Blush is available in two semi opaque, semi gloss finishes which highlight the timber’s natural grains and characteristics:

 Blonde a contemporary and warm white wash, and;

Naturale a clear finish which highlights and protects.

Care and Maintenance

LIMITATIONS OF USE

• Interior use only.

• Blush must be used in dry areas only. In addition, certain dry areas such as flat roofs will require further ventilation.

• Blush panels must not be subjected to submersion or continuous and direct contact with moisture, such as in saunas, steam rooms, splash backs or shower linings.

• Blush is based on a plywood substrate and therefore is not suitable for exposure to temperatures above 50 0 ˚C. There must be suitable ventilation to ensure temperature conditions are not exceeded.

HANDLING AND INSTALLATION

Blush is supplied at the correct moisture content for interior use. It should be protected from dampness throughout the delivery, storage on site and construction. It is essential that blush is acclimatised before installation.

Do not stack on edges or lean panels against a wall or the side of the rack for any period of time.

CLEANING

The colour vibrancy and unique finish of Blush is complemented by its easy to clean surface.

Everyday Cleaning

The best way to clean the surface on a regular basis is by wiping the surface with a damp cloth or sponge and a diluted solution of mild liquid detergent in tepid water. After cleaning, wipe the surface with a clean cloth to remove residual detergent and moisture. Do not use excessive water and detergent on the surface during cleaning.

Stubborn Stains and Marks

When the ‘everyday cleaning’ method does not work for stubborn marks, stains or grime build up, use a mild general purpose household cleaner. When using appropriate household ‘spray and wipe’ type cleaners, spray the cleaning agent so that a wide spread of mist is dispersed onto the surface. Wipe the surface clean immediately.

Ensure you refer to the cleaning products instructions prior to use. If the instructions caution against use of the product on paint, varnish, plastic or lacquered surfaces, avoid using the cleaner or test in an inconspicuous area first.

Do not spray cleaning agents in concentrated amounts onto the surface or leave the cleaning agent on the surface for any period of time, as this could stain or damage the surface.

What Not To Use

Solvents

Do not use harsh solvents such as paint thinners, petrol, MEK, toluene and other active or oxygenated organic solvents.

Harsh Household Cleaners

Do not use cleaning liquids, abrasive cleaners and abrasive materials that may scratch and damage the coating, such as:

Cleaners: Jif, Vim, Ajax, Brasso, Neat Janola, Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner, Windex, Drain Cleaners, CLR (Calcium, Lime Rust Remover), Harpic Toilet Duck, Caustic based oven cleaners, Sugar Soap or Bleach in any concentration.

Abrasives: Sand Paper, Wire Wool, Scouring Pads.

Environment

Blush, using the proprietary Climate powder coating system, is considered to be an environmentally friendly product.

The Blush finish is manufactured from a 100% solid powder coating material. This means that it contains very little if any volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Blush uses plywood from sustainable and renewable radiata plantations in New Zealand. This plywood is untreated and has extremely low formaldehyde emissions, the lowest of any wood-based panel product. Standard structural plywood that use phenolic (Type-A) bonds have emissions of between 0.00 to 0.03 ppm, well below the international standard of 0.1 ppm.
